Overview

Maintain inventory accuracy with in ERP system. Complete daily cycle counting, press audits and inventory adjustment investigation/reconciliation.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Perform daily cycle counts as directed and adjust system records
  • Perform daily press audits and reconcile findings
  • Track and report adjustments to inventory for root cause analysis and process improvement
  • Conduct training with all shifts to review the effects of failure modes and proper process/standard work
  • Maintain and distribute weekly count results
  • Manage inventory locations within the ERP system for frequency and shared source identification
  • Manage Default Storage locations for all parts - Both raw materials and finished goods
  • Manage annual physical inventory activities
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Decision Making Authority

  • Has the authority to adjust inventory amounts in ERP system
  • Has authority to choose what failure modes require a process change
  • Has authority to update/change/improve processes to correct failure mode issues
  • Has authority to coordinate and lead process improvement activities (kaizens, training presentations, etc.)
  • Has authority to make changes to storage locations within the ERP system including shared source locations

Qualifications

Required Competencies, Skills and Experience

  • Has experience working in an ERP system, adjusting inventory, transaction history etc.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Strong problem solving abilities, attention to detail and research skills are required
  • Experience doing daily cycle counting – both by location and part
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent record keeping skills - trend tracking/problem and solution tracking
  • Requires strong computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Operating forklift experience
  • Ability to lead multi-functional teams

 

Preferred Skills

  • APICS certification, knowledge of inventory systems
  • 3+ years cycle count experience
  • 3+ years operating fork lift experience
  • Public Speaking/Presentation experience
  • Ability to influence and/or persuade other associates without having direct authority

 

Education and Job Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent,
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Work Environment and Physical & Mental Demands

  • The ability to work in non-climate controlled plant areas and climate controlled office areas
  • Ability to be exposed to noisy plant areas and forklift traffic and occasionally work from outside and work from heights
  • Ability to make quick and accurate decisions under pressure
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and work overtime as needed and on short notice
  • Ability to walk on concrete floors
  • Possess near-vision and manual and finger dexterity; ability to use inductive and deductive reasoning
  • Ability to make decisions and take appropriate actions when it comes to stopping processes, if unsafe conditions exist or if quality expectations are not met.
