  • Overview

    Material Handlers are responsible for ensuring that all equipment and materials are delivered to workstations and other locations throughout in a timely manner.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    ·         Manage raw materials inventory (resins, components, packaging)

    ·         Provide material to production areas in all location throughout the facility, usually by operating a forklift

    ·         Follow production manuals and operation instructions in PLEX system

    ·         Record all material moves, including weight and variance tracking, using scanners and/or IPADs to look up and record information

    ·         Manage silo inventories, providing accurate weighing and re-labeling that feeds inventory system

    ·         Follow BOM for delivery of correct materials

    ·         Perform assembly and packaging operations

    ·         Able to make floor level inventory correction by correctly diagnosing and problem solving through mis-matches and problems

    ·         Must exemplify a positive, respectful and “can do” attitude not only for one’s self but for how it will affect other associates

    ·         All associates are accountable for their own work, proposed changes and solutions that increase their work performance and the company’s business results


    Decision Making Authority

    ·         Coordinate with Production Team to prioritize jobs, and when necessary reorganize to meet deadline changes and updates and still make demands

    ·         Identify floor inventory mismatch issues and resolve

    ·         Identify when floor demands exceed work capacity and elevate issues and ask for help

    ·         Able to consolidate work as the demands come in, and work at maximum efficiency


    ·         Must be able to pass a forklift safety test & forklift driving test upon hire

    ·         Basic math skills and good reading skills, with the ability to use a calculator for larger number work

    ·         Attention to detail and unsupervised, first time accuracy

    ·         Ability to move freely throughout the building to gather information, materials and authorizations

    ·         Ability to work well with others

    ·         Able to work overtime  as needed
