Overview

As a Maintenance Technician for EG Industries you will work in an automotive manufacturing/ industrial facility. This is a highly skilled electrical and maintenance role in which you will troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair malfunctioning electrical equipment used in manufacturing processes. Perform constant evaluation, preventative maintenance, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment and facilities to keep everything in a production status.

Responsibilities

  1. Performing  maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical components
  2. Completing assigned procedures on mold machines, robots, programmable logic controller, air compressors and other electrical and mechanical equipment
  3. Testing electro-mechanical assemblies using a variety of testing instruments
  4. Reading blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods of repair
  5. Aligning, fitting, or assembling component parts using hand or power tools
  6. Attend all required meetings and training when scheduled
  7. Maintain a safe and clean work area
  8. Ability to troubleshoot PLCs, a plus
  9. Must be knowledgeable in required personal protective equipment
  10. Must be a team player
  11. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty in a satisfactory manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience in mechanical, electrical and management SAFETY REQUIREMENTS 
  • Must observe and practice all safety regulations. This includes wearing and using properly the necessary personal protective equipment required for any task.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

REASONING ABILITY

 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.  Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.

The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally maneuver up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to forklift traffic and moving production line. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

 

Must be able to work overtime and to work overtime at short notice. Must be able to work well with other associates and follow all company rules, regulations and company policies.
