Overview

Performs routine inspection of products for conformance to specific product standards.  Properly load and unload various types of production equipment.  Perform various types of assembly and packaging operations. Perform housekeeping tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

Position duties: May include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Visually inspect and load parts to production line
  • Perform break activities as assigned within allotted time period
  • Perform quality functions as assigned
  • Visually inspect, stamp and pack parts per work instructions and packaging diagram
  • Unload parts from production line.
  • Assemble component parts using various assembly and wrapping machines
  • Label boxes and finished goods per packaging diagrams and BOM
  • Keep Cell Coordinator/Supervisor informed of any abnormalities in the production flow
  • Records appropriate data collections as required.
  • Inform Technicians of any defects found in a timely manner
  • Where applicable, follow non-conforming material control procedures.
  • Attend all required meetings and training when scheduled
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area
  • Must be knowledgeable in required personal protective equipment
  • Must be a team player
  • Perform quality functions as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty in a satisfactory manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required

 

Education and/or Experience

  • 1-2 years of Quality experience preferred
  • HS Diploma or equivalent experience preferred

 

Safety Requirements 

  • Must observe and practice all safety regulations This includes the wearing and proper usage of the necessary personal protective equipment required for any task

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence

 

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • May have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

 

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

 

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear
  • The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally may maneuver up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include but not limited to close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
  • Must be able to stand continuously for the duration of scheduled shift

 

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Must be able to work overtime and to work overtime at short notice
  • Must be able to work well with other associates and follow all company rules, regulations and company policies
