Overview

The Industrial Engineer will manage process flow, safety/OSHA requirements and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in manufacturing process selection to meet program objectives and meet production targets for rates, quality, piece price and capitol budgets
  • Assist in development of process documentation (i.e. FMEA’s, flow charts, data sheets, operation standards, and packaging diagrams).
  • Identify and establish all processing parameters.
  • Develop and maintain equipment parameter settings and control as necessary.
  • Review and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on customer documentation.
  • Evaluate, identify, and lead continuous improvement projects.
  • Provide engineering support for manufacturing and material service in the areas of processing, ergonomics, and packaging development.
  • Support equipment service activity.
  • Review customer drawings and design changes to identify change points and evaluate impact to processes.
  • Support all departments as required for New Model development and design change activities
  • Develop and maintain New Model project schedule and budget
  • Develop and evaluate process MOST studies.
  • Support New Model trail build events
  • Manage development and implementation of new equipment.
  • Develop designs for pallet fixtures.
  • Assist in the investigation and immediate corrective action for safety plant issues
  • Maintain “lock out/ tag out” requirements
  • Perform periodic safety audits
  • Coordinate and manage special safety activities (lockout/tagout training, fire watch training, etc.)
  • Maintain plant environmental compliance and ensure all company and OSHA policies/procedures, and regulations are being met
  • Support department Business Plan activity.
  • Document any equipment changes or concerns in work requests system.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with 3-5 years manufacturing experience
  • Experience in OSHA regulations and policies
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft office applications; specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Working knowledge of ERP operating systems (Plex preferable)
  • Proficiency with CAD; specifically Autocad or Solid Edge

  • Strong organizational skills
