Overview

The Quality Manager directs and leads the Quality Department in planning and management, ISO9000, customer relations and problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement major quality objectives and monitor progress toward achieving objectives
  • Maintain role as management representative for ISO9001
  • Develop and maintain a program for the ongoing implementation, maintenance and improvements of current policy, procedures and product
  • Develop and maintain a program for the audit of quality systems, procedures and product to include measurement of effectiveness to current practices and customer needs
  • Report non-conformances to management and assist in developing corrective action plans
  • Maintain open communication with customers to ensure continuous satisfaction relative to quality; complaint follow-up and resolution, field survey of customer’s plant, return /warranty analysis, etc.
  • Maintain training of appropriate personnel in team oriented problem solving techniques
  • Assist in establishing proper statistical problem solving methodology
  • Develop yearly Business Plan
  • Lead, support, and involve Quality department in achieving Business Plan goals
  • Maintain a safe working environment and enforce safety polices
  • Facilitate open communication within and between departments

Qualifications

Required skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years experience in quality management preferred
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft office applications; specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Be knowledgeable in the TQM program including: fundamentals of probability and statistics, statistical quality control, quality planning and management, quality cost analysis, reliability and maintainability, quality information systems, automotive systems and procedures, blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing

 

Preferred skills and experience:

  • ISO9000 Quality Systems Training
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to make sound decisions
