Overview

Basic Scope/Purpose:

 

Manage overall plant continual improvement, preventative action, and corrective action activities to reduce/eliminate customer complaints, internal defects/PPM’s and waste.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the current ISO 9001:2008 QMS and move it forward to obtain TS16949 certification.
  • Responsible for continual improvement in Quality performance measurable
  • Manage Continual Improvement and Corrective Action activities through leadership/development of the team
  • Manage process orientated Internal Audits to drive continual improvement, reinforce/develop company standards
  • Continually improve relationships and company’s position with Customers and Suppliers through direct interface and strong leadership
  • Responsible for APQP participation and Quality documentation
  • Manage PFMEA document to drive preventive actions throughout the facility (with APQP and Corrective Action input)
  • Manage all Customer concerns relative to quality performance
  • Facility Quality System Coordinator
  • Actively participate in the Six Sigma, 5S and Lean Manufacturing to drive continual improvements and eliminate waste
  • Supervise and manage quality testing projects
  • Manage Document Control
  • Manage Calibration System
  • Train & Develop Quality Inspectors
  • Provide Quality driven directives to Operations

Qualifications

Required Skill and Education:


• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other equivalent field
• Previous automotive experience a must
• Working knowledge and use of CMM
• Hands on metrology experience and preparation of PPAP
• Direct experience working with customers
• Previous experience working with ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 standards
• Ability to multi-task, train others, communication skills, analytical skills and critical thinking
