  • Overview

    The role of this individual is that of the customer point of contact regarding all aspects of a New Mold builds, or engineering changes on a product. This individual must interface with designers both internal to EGI and external Tool shops for overall direction, coordination with tool rooms, responsible for meeting customer dates, acceptable quality levels, achieving targeted quotes, and internal cost targets.

    Responsibilities

    • Decide on Mold design concept with help of the Tool designer.  Direction to be based off customer requirements, overall business objectives, and serviceability ease in production.
    • Lead Design Review meetings for their tools, and insure that all design standards are followed, and documented.
    • Monitor, and react where needed to insure cost, quality, and delivery meets targeted assumptions.
    • Provide technical assistance, and answers for the Tool Room as required.
    • Responsible for coordinating Sampling schedule with expected deliverables at T0, T1, and T2.
    • Liaison between internal departments including, but not limited to, Quality, Molding, Project Engineering, Tool Room, Shipping, Scheduling and Senior Management.
    • Responsible for CI on existing “opportunity” tools running in production.

    Qualifications

    Required Competencies, Skills and Experience

    • Minimum 4 years proven experience in Plastic Injection Molding- required.
    • Prior Mold Making, and/or Design experience- required.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills- required.
    • Must have excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated history of follow through on supervised tool projects.- required
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work with associates at any level of the organization.- required

     

    Preferred Skills

    • Proficient with Solid Works, with Mold Flow experience a plus.- preferred

     

    Education and Job Experience Requirements

    • High School diploma is required.
    • Completion of skilled trades training applicable to tooling industry.
    • Scientific Molding Experience/Exposure.
    • Two or Four year degree is preferred.

     

    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    • Regularly required to sit and use hands
    • Occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, with a potential of up to 25 pounds.
    • Sedentary, office environment; frequent exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the use of personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, etc) and following good manufacturing practices.
