  • Overview

    Supports the organization by directing all aspects of engineering activities and ensuring all engineering work conforms to the company’s technical and organizational standards to meet and/or exceed all requirements.


    • Directs and oversees the operation, integration and completion of all product or process-related activities for molding and post molding engineering projects.
    • Assigns projects among engineering personnel
    • Responsible for supervision of department employees to include performance reviews, hiring and disciplinary actions
    • Leads the implementation of overall objectives, policies, plans and programs for the site
    • Ensures engineering work conforms to customer requirements and meets/exceeds all requirements from cradle to grave
    • Active member of senior staff. Shares in the responsibility of formulating, communicating and successfully meeting/exceeding corporate goals and objectives.   
    • Works closely with the Plant Manager and corporate tooling manager on developing and implementing growth strategies
    • Evaluates customer projects for compatibility with EG Industries technology
    • Generates concepts and prepares price quotations based on knowledge of customer requirements and specifications
    • Recommends material, equipment and tooling strategies and process based on customer and product requirements when appropriate
    • Coordinates both corrective action and continuous improvement activities
    • Supports day to day activities as needed on the production floor
    • Coordinates validation of new equipment/technology and release to manufacturing


    Required Competencies, Skills and Experience

    • Minimum of eight (8) years’ engineering experience in the plastics industry
    • Chemical and molding knowledge
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule
    • Must be able to demonstrate expertise in a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures
    • Excellent troubleshooting, decision making skills, problem solving skills and analytical skills.
    • Technologically proficient
    • Strong, professional communication skills essential, both oral and written


    Education and Job Experience Requirements 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
    • MS in engineering preferred.


    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    • Required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead and bend to the floor
    • Ability to travel by car or airplane as required
    • Office and manufacturing plant
    • Customer facilities
