  • Overview

    Team Leads are responsible to provide daily support to production operators to ensure production targets are met. Provide operators with the necessary tools to carry out assigned job functions. Support and encourage company goals and continuous improvements. Will be responsible to operate and/or service equipment as needed to meet production requirements.

    Responsibilities

    ·         Set up and change over work stations as needed for job, pack, material and mold changes

    ·         Verify proper manning is in place at shift change

    ·         Support and assist in the relief of operators for breaks and lunches

    ·         Check work stations during production runs to verify that the following are being accurately recorded:

              Correct pack is being used, only 1 serial number at a time is scanned into Plex for consumption at the work center, all scrap is entered in Plex                       correctly and in a timely manner. All material, pack and components are removed from the work center when jobs are complete.

    ·         Verify that all scrap is correctly identified and put in properly marked containers for reprocessing, recycling or disposal.

    ·         Act as the point person with Material Handlers to keep them notified of movement needs and pending changes

    ·         Verify that operators are performing and maintaining 5S and standard work at their work stations.

    ·         Aid Trainers in identifying associates that need additional training

    ·         Support 5-S efforts to ensure organization, housekeeping, and safety are maintained.

    ·         Perform routine inspection to product standards, use cutters and knives to trim parts

    ·         Follow manufacturing handbook and OMIs, and complete production reports

    ·         Must be familiar with and follow all press and auxiliary equipment safety practices, as well as all company safety policies

    ·         Other duties as assigned

    ·         Ability to twist, stand, stoop and stand for long periods of time

    ·         Ability to work overtime as needed and on short notice

     

    Decision Making Authority

    ·         Call for support if product or equipment is defective

    ·         Stop process if safety is compromised

    Qualifications

    Preferred Qualifications for Hire or Promotion:

    ·         Good math and reading skills

    ·         Previous manufacturing experience is a plus

    ·         Good hand eye coordination

    ·         Must be team player, capable of working well with others and setting a good example

    ·         Must be able to multitask prioritize, manage time efficiently, and work independently

    ·         Must be able to proficiently & effectively function within the Plex system

    ·         Strong interpersonal skills

    ·         Sets a positive example to others and demonstrates company values

    ·         Ability to problem solve and provide root cause

    ·         Participates in continuous improvement initiatives

    ·         Must be able to provide direction to others as well as facilitate with superiors

     

    Education and Job Experience Requirements

    ·         High School Diploma or GED equivalent, preferred

    ·         General understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures

    ·         Minimum two years of manufacturing experience a plus

     

    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    ·         While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel and talk or hear

    ·         The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

    ·         Ability to stand for long periods of time

    ·         The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 lbs and occasionally may maneuver up to 50 lbs

    ·         Specific visions abilities required by this job may include but not limited to close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception

    ·         Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment for a minimum of 8-10 hours per day

    ·         Must be able to stand continuously for the duration of a scheduled shift, minimum 8-10 hours per day
