  • Overview

    The Maintenance Manager reports directly to the Processing Manager. This position manage, leads, directs, and supervises hourly skilled trade employees as required in maintenance. Schedules and coordinates activities in maintenance to accomplish department objectives, support operations, respond to emergencies and generally maintain the proper function of company assets, equipment and systems.


    • Ensure safe work environment through proper safe work practices and participates in safety training programs.
    • Manage, Schedule and assign tasks to employees to meet shift requirements.
    • Administer records and evaluate preventative maintenance activities and programs. Administer maintenance or repair on equipment. Assists mechanics and electricians in troubleshooting complex maintenance problems.
    • Responds in a timely manner to work order requests.
    • Orient, train, and evaluate employees to perform maintenance activities and tasks.
    • Completes daily, weekly and monthly logs and reports.
    • Must be hands on.
    • Responsible for planning and implementing activities to improve the following metrics; Downtime, work orders, preventative maintenance, planning projects and plant shutdown.
    • Implement a timeline budget.


    Required Skills and Experience

    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
    • Should be proficient with Microsoft Office software such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
    • PLC trouble-shooting is a must


    Education and Job Experience Requirements

    • High School or GED equivalent
    • 5+ year’s minimum of skilled trades work in a manufacturing environment.
    • Technical school graduate preferred and previous experience supervising personnel.
    •  Must have the ability to lead, motivate and develop personnel, particularly with project and cross functional teams.
    • Proficient in multiple technical disciplines, analytics and assurance techniques.
