  • Overview

    Assist supervisor in coordination and setup of maintenance functions to meet established quality and production requirements.  This position still requires the person to work as a maintenance employee (EMT) but has the additional responsibilities listed below.

    Responsibilities

    May include, but are not limited to the following:

     

    1. Assist Maintenance Supervisor
    2. Assist Technicians when necessary
    3. Promote & build teamwork and professionalism
    4. Keep supervisor informed of any abnormalities or potential problems
    5. Stand-in for Supervisor on an as needed basis
    6. Attend all plant Safety meetings
    7. Must follow and enforce use of LO/TO for the facility
    8. Administer the Preventative Maintenance (PM) work to the Maintenance Department in a timely fashion
    9. Assign PM work as to allow 100% completion by end of each month
    10. Maintain all PM documentation in the computer for auditing proposes
    11. Work with maintenance personnel to get PM’s done on time and inform supervisor of any issues
    12. Make sure supplies are on hand to allow PM’s to be completed
    13. Modify PM system with input from department as needed to improve uptime and reduce waste
    14. Coordinate maintenance projects to department and outside vendors if necessary
    15. Get quotes from vendors for special projects as needed
    16. Keep necessary supplies on hand to allow daily repairs to be completed
    17. Complete purchase order requisitions and order maintenance supplies
    18. Must have and/or obtain a Company issued forklift license
    19. Must have basic computer skills relevant to department needs
    20. Attend all required meetings and training when scheduled
    21. Maintain a safe and clean work area
    22. Must be knowledgeable in required personal protective equipment
    23. Cover for vacations and other scheduled time off
    24. Other work assignments as they occur
    25. Must keep the maintenance area clean and organized with help from the department

    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty in a satisfactory manner.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • 2 years related experience and/or training
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Basic computer knowledge
    • Functional ability of FPE processes

    SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

    Must observe and practice all safety regulations.  This includes the wearing of and proper usage of the necessary personal protective equipment to complete any task.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

     

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

     

    REASONING ABILITY

     

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

     

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit.  The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally maneuver up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to forklift traffic and moving production line.  The employee is frequently exposed to fumes.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

    Must be able to work overtime including staying over and/or coming in early with short notice. Must be able to work well with other associates and follow all company rules, regulations and policies.
