  • Overview

    This position is responsible for production support and maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment. Primary duties include troubleshooting and repair of production equipment and implementing improvements to existing equipment.

    Responsibilities

    • Respond to floor calls for production issues involving automated equipment
    • Troubleshoot equipment issues that cause production downtime
    • Preform preventative maintenance on automated equipment
    • Replace components and make adjustments to equipment as needed
    • Implement improvements to existing equipment as directed
    • Feedback information to engineering to improve new model equipment development
    • Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe working conditions
    • Must exemplify a positive, respectful and “can-do” attitude not only for one’s self but for how it will affect other associates
    • All associates are accountable for their own work, purposed changes and solutions that increase their work performance and the company’s business results

    Decision Making Authority

    • Authorized to lock-out equipment that is considered unsafe for operation, must notify production supervision

    Qualifications

    • Familiar with PLC controlled automated equipment (Allen-Bradley a plus)
    • Programming experience with the following software:
      • RSLogix 500
      • Studio 5000
      • GP-Pro EX
      • Factory Talk
    • Experience with industrial robots
    • Ability to read and understand prints and drawings (Electrical, Pneumatic, Mechanical)
    • Understanding of low voltage controls wiring conventions

    Required Education/Qualifications for Hire or Promotion

    • 2-5 years experience in an industrial manufacturing facility or close equivalent
    • Must have good mechanical skills
    • Able to fabricate/install simple parts (brackets, linkages, etc.)
    • Good electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills
    • Willingness to learn to read and understand prints and drawings (Electrical, Pneumatic, Mechanical)
    • Willingness and ability to learn basic PLC and HMI programming
    • Able to work on own with direction

     

    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    • Employee must adhere to company safety policies, includes wearing required PPE
    • Occasional exposure to difficult working conditions (heat, dirt, fumes, lubricants, etc.)
    • Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 40 lbs. overhead
    • Ability to stand for long periods on concrete floor
    • Attend scheduled work hours on a regular and timely basis, maintain good attendance
    • Requires occasional travel, work on an off-shift, and overtime
