  • Overview

    Performs routine preventative maintenance and repairs on all manufacturing stamping dies, molds and fixtures.

     

    Shifts available: 

    1st (6:00 am - 2:30pm) & 3rd (10:00pm - 6:30am)

    Responsibilities

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty in a satisfactory manner.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    May include, but are not limited to the following:

     

    • Communicate workload and priorities to the following shifts
    • Basic skills to setup and operate all conventional machining equipment to include but not limited to lathes, milling machines and surface grinder
    • Ability to work with or without drawings
    • Ability to read tooling prints
    • Make plastic injection mold and stamping die repairs as necessary
    • Diagnose and correct problems relating to plastic injection molds and stamping dies
    • Prepare molds, dies, and fixtures for outside vendor repair when necessary
    • Complete all required documentation for specific job(s)
    • Complete work orders for tracking
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision
    • Attend all required meetings and training when scheduled
    • Annually trained to perform specific functions of Hazardous Waste management including;  Handling, storage, labeling, spill response and as applicable, Hazardous Waste Manifest management
    • Maintain a safe and clean work area
    • Must be knowledgeable in required personal protective equipment
    • Must be a team player
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    Decision Making Authority

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  May have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

     

    Safety Requirements

    Must observe and practice all safety regulations.  This includes the wearing and proper usage of the necessary personal protective equipment required for any task. Safety shoes are required for this position.

    Qualifications

    Preferred Skills

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

     

    Education and Job Experience Requirements

    No minimum requirements are in place for this position

     

     

    Other Qualifications

    Must be able to work overtime and to work overtime at short notice. Must be able to work well with other associates and follow all company rules, regulations and company policies.  Must supply own machinist hand tools.

The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally may maneuver up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job may include but not limited to close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Must be able to stand continuously for the duration of scheduled shift.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to forklift traffic and moving production lines.
