  • Overview

    Responsible for the overall management, direction and coordination of plant operations to achieve production and fiscal objectives; including plant safety, customer relations, continuous improvement, strategic planning, quality assurance, problem resolution, manpower development, engineering activity, and fiscal responsibility. 

     

    Responsibilities

    • Establishes operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery
    • Holds team accountable to achieve or exceed established metrics
    • Implements Lean Manufacturing and drives continuous improvement
    • In conjunction with corporate leadership and management staff, establishes budgets and strategic plans to accomplish objectives for growth and profitability
    • Develops and implements strategic plans for site and critical interfaces inside and outside the site
    • Manages & analyses the P&L, driving all operations to meet or exceed budget targets and strategic plans
    • Reviews and approves preparation of accounting analysis for budgetary planning and implementation, production efficiency, financial reporting, budgetary planning and submittal for capital expenditures
    • Builds, develops, and manages operations leadership team capable of carrying-out needed operations strategies and improving employee relations
    • Evaluates, implements, and ensures all policies and procedures are maintained in the operation
    • Directs department managers in a manner that ensures the most effective and efficient total plant operation
    • Consults with engineering personnel relative to modifications of machines and equipment to improve production & quality of product
    • Provides leadership for problem resolution
    • Acts as a positive liaison with customers, community, and Company management
    • Assists in pursuing new business for the company
    • Ensures timely output of quality product within standards of budget, policies, procedures, safety, and housekeeping aspects of operations
    • Interfaces and communicates in an effective and consistent manner with all plant personnel to produce positive associate morale
    • Must exemplify a positive, respectful and “can do” attitude not only for one’s self but for how it will affect other associates
    • Demonstrate leadership qualities that will both motivate and develop associates at all levels
    • Utilize a mentoring approach that will foster a team spirit within the areas of responsibility for collective success

     

     

    Qualifications

    Required Competencies, Skills and Experience

    • Proven success in maintaining positive labor relations
    • Knowledge of ISO9001 and IATF quality management systems
    • A track record of successful and sustainable continuous improvement
    • Working knowledge of ERP operating systems
    • Strong financial knowledge with strong budgeting skills, proven P&L experience, and strong strategic planning experience
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
    • Strong organizational development skills
    • Working knowledge of injection molding operations and technology

    Education and Job Experience Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management or other equivalent degree
    • 10 years management experience in a plastic injection molding manufacturing environment

    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    • This position is exposed to noisy plant areas, and forklift traffic.
    • This position requires the ability to walk on concrete floors, lift up to 30 pounds, perform repetitive keystrokes on a continual basis, and occasionally bend, kneel, twist, and reach.
