  • Overview

    Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.


    • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against packing slips, bills of lading or other records
    • Records receipt of incoming materials and equipment
    • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records and reports shortages and discrepancies, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
    • Routes checked incoming materials, supplies or equipment to the appropriate areas of the facility
    • Prepares products or materials for shipment
    • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
    • Prepares bills of lading and maintains documentation of goods shipped
    • Will operate fork truck, and/or hand-truck


    Required Competencies, Skills and Experience


    • Ability to learn and display an understanding of quality, safety and process knowledge
    • Capable of working with team members as needed
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Must be self-motivated  


    Education and Job Experience Requirements


    • Prior experience in a warehouse environment
    • Fork truck experience required


    Work Environment and Physical Demands


    • Standing for long periods of time
    • Moderate continuous lifting, pushing, pulling
    • Reaching overhead
    • Physical hazards from moving equipment
